Ukraine’s grain exports hit a record high 39.4 million tonnes in the 2015/16 July-June season, exceeding the previous season’s volume by 13 percent, the agriculture ministry said on Saturday. The volume included 17.35 million tonnes of wheat, 17.40 million tonnes of maize and 4.41 million tonnes of barley, the ministry said in a report.

Increase in world prices for sunflower and soybean meals boosted export activity on Ukrainian market. In May exports of sunflower and soybean meals were record high, as well as current volumes exported since the beginning of 2015/16 season.
Thus, in May sunflower meal exports reached 361.2 KMT against 288.2 KMT over the previous month. Since the beginning of the current season Ukraine exported 2596.5 KMT, which is 301.5 KMT higher compared to the same period of 2014/15.
